Abstract
The authors review the results of the 12th Annual Seminar for Polygraphologists inspected by the Autonomous non-profitable organization of vocational education “Centre of Applied Psychophysiology”. It is emphasized necessary for polygraphologists to employ the methods resulted from comprehensive scientific researches which have been standardized, their findings objectively assessed with the numerical data of the degree of the outcomes’ validity and probable mistakes. Under discussion are the results of certain scientific researches focused on technology of assessing validity of information provided by an individual according to the changes of pupillary diameter (eye-tracking) and effective usage of comparative questions of “probable lie” and “controlled lie” in polygraph testing. The review comprises the milestones in recent polygraphology in Russia and abroad, as well as the results of the seminar designed by David Ruskin, a leading polygraphologist of modern times, an honourable professor of the University of Utah (USA).
Keywords: polygraph, psychophysiological research, accuracy of polygraph testing, indefinite results.
