Regulations on submitting the manuscript by the author

Scientific articles and submitted materials for publishing in the journal “Psychopedagogy in Law Enforcement must be of a science-to-practice nature, unique, not published earlier and contain the following obligatory elements:

— setting the problem in general and its relation to the current scientific or practical tasks;

— analysis of the leading-edge researches and publications which were at the very outset of investigation of the problem the author relies on; outlining unresolved parts of a general problem the article deals with;

— formulating the objectives of the article (setting the tasks);

— setting forth the main material of the research with complete reasoning of the received scientific results;

— conclusions on the research and prospective of the further investigation in the field or the final part which must reflect the novelty of the research results, sphere of their use and specify the divisions where the conclusions made by the author should be applied. We ask the authors to focus on the usefulness of scientific developments for improving law enforcement officers’ professional activity.

Key words can be given in bold type, the font size of 12 can be used when giving examples from investigator’s and court practice, logical diversions etc.

To the article should be attached an abstract in Russian and key words (6–8 lexical units) from the text of the article. The abstract should contain up to (150–250 words);

To fasten the process of publishing the manuscript the following requirements should be observed:

1. Give full information about last name, first name, middle name, position, place of work, academic degree and academic rank, postal details, telephone for contact, e-mail.

2. Line spacing — 1,5; «Times New Roman» should be used.

3. References should be numbered and listed at the end of the article in order of their appearance in the article (State Standard R 7.0.5-2008) “Bibliographic Reference”. The list of resources should contain the recent resources including the journal “Psycho-pedagogics in law enforcement agencies”. The list shall not include unpublished works. All the works by the same author should be given in a chronological order.

All the cited legal acts must contain the reference to the official resource of publishing. When referring to the Corpus of Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation, remember to specify the pages. For example:

When referring to the book, give the author’s last name and initials; the title of the book; city; year of publishing; page (or the whole number of pages). When repeating the reference, specify the author’s last name and initials; the title of the book (if the reference follows the references to the author’s other works); page. When repeating the reference which doesn’t follow immediately its first mentioning, give the author’s last name and initials; as for the title and following elements they are replaced by «Ор. cit.» (opus citato — cited paper) — for the documents written in Roman type. For example:

In the articles from collections, journals and periodicals the data is given as follows:

— the author’s last name and initials, the title of the article, the title of the resource, editor (chief editor or editorial board) and the city –

— for collections- year, volume (number), pages. The title must be separated from the resource by double slash.For example:

When giving references to the materials from the Internet, give the data for their search (the detailed address in the Internet including the title of the website and date of reference), and use «URL» (Uniform Resource Locator). For example:

4. Manuscripts and documents attached should be sent either in the printed version along with the electronic one (format Win Word or rtf) or by e-mail.

To the materials submitted by those who do not have an academic degree should be attached the detailed extract from the minutes of the appropriate chair’s meeting with the decision to send these materials to the editorial board of the journal to consider for publishing.

The manuscript must contain up to 0,5 author’s sheet including pictures, graphs and tables. Authors assume responsibility for the accuracy of quantitative data, citations, last names and proper names.

5. The editorial board is eligible to edit articles, though the author’s view of the scientific content is preserved. The opinion of the editorial board can differ from the authors’ position.

The journal is a peer-reviewed edition. The review estimates the importance of the paper’s subject-matter, the level of scientific grounds of the theses, their novelty and significance, outlines positive as well as revealed manuscript’s arguable or negative points, makes recommendations to publish (reject to publish) the article or hand it back to the author for further elaboration.

The editorial board is eligible to send submitted papers for reviewing, additional reviewing or reject them. The editorial board sends the manuscripts’ authors copies of the reviews or rejection with the grounds given.

To be published in the journal the authors provide the editorial staff with:

— covering letter (on a letter-head) from the organization where the work has been done to prove the assignment of publication;

— reference letter from the research supervisor or review of the scholar who has an academic degree in the considered field and (or) extract from the minutes of the appropriate chair’s (division’s) meeting recommending the article for publishing;

— the article arranged according to the requirements given — 2 copies;

— abstract, key words. The aim of the abstract is to briefly and concisely present the essence of the article. The abstract can reflect the structure of the text. The abstract should contain up to (150–250 words). The abstract should neither be the periphrasis of the title nor contain statements of little information value. The translation of metadata is the responsibility of the editorial board;

— information about the authors (initials, academic degree, academic rank, specialty, position, organization, postal data and e-mail).

The article and materials being admitted for publishing, the terms are fixed with the chief editor.
