Main Provisions:
- To conduct negotiations with criminals effectively it is necessary to professionally train a group of negotiators considering the following socio-psychological factors: individual destructive features lead to negative outcomes; emotional behavioural rigidity is related to inability of predicting the consequences of negotiations; social creative activity makes it possible to find an unusual solution of the situation; manipulative experience promotes correct decisions; unsophisticated professional experience hinders comprehension of the situation; rational practice facilitates reasonable behaviour; variable assessment of the situation helps to notice the least changes in interpersonal relations during the negotiation.
- It is quite rare that one person has constructive socio-psychological factors in communicating with criminals in the situation of taking hostages, therefore, a special group consisting of specialists with different professional qualities is to conduct negotiations.
